pumpkin carving time!!

We had a lot of fun last night carving pumpkins. Normally Haylee and Erin try as hard as they can not to throw up. This year they did pretty good. Haylee only gagged once. And Erin only gagged after tasting the pumpkin cause Kryssi was eating it and said it was good. It was nice this year cause they actually got all the seeds out. All I had to do was the slim part. Which is the worse part but they did a good job of helping.

Kit got a huge pumpkin!! We joked about putting Kryssi in it but she did not quite fit.

Haylee is the spider. Erins is the cat face. Tylers is the scary face. Kryssis is the other cat. Mine was the silly face. And kits won the contest. His was a picture of Jesus.

We had a blast and now off to cook the seeds!!!

picking pumpkins

On friday Tyler class took a field trip to Apple Annie's Orchard. They walked though a small part of the corn maze and took a hay ride to pick pumpkins. He had a blast. Tyler likes the girls already, great!! He got a gift from one and got caught holding hands with other.

Then we went as a family on Saturday. We took the hardest corn maze trail. We got lost. I think we were in the maze for about 30 minutes. It was so fun though. The view of the maze from the air shows they cut out aminal shapes in the corn field.
We also took the hay ride out to the pumpkin field. Erin's eyes were bigger then her muscles. We told the they had to carry there pumpkins cause Kit was going to get a big one. She made it back to the trailer but barely. Tyler helped Kryssi find one. She liked it till she found out the the stem is pokey.

We had a blast. it was windy but very fun. We walked for 3 hours straight. the kids slept good that night. So did we.

In Memory of Papa

I just want to write a little in memory of my papa. He was a man that loved everyone. He was a clown for the Shriner's. When I was little I had a lot of sleep over weekends. I remember he would peek in the room and see if i was moving around yet and if I was he would run to the donut shop and get donuts. Another good memory was when we would grill out. He made the best hamburgers and brisket. We would all sit down and eat and laugh the entire time. He taught me how to do the number puzzle books. He always gave the biggest bear hugs every time. He was always happy and loved the Lord with his whole heart. He is in a wonderful place now with love joy and no more pain. We love you and will miss you Papa Markham.
